get a custom grind. that's the only way. off the shelf cams will never get you exactly want you want. If you want to get the most power out of the 306 you'll have to rev higher than you're wanting to. So just throw that out. This isn't something you want to half *** on. Get exactly what you want from a place that does custom grinds. Check out cmotorsports.com

A custom grind will be your best choice for sure. It takes all of the guesswork out of it. However, there are some off the shelf grinds that are fairly cheap and will get you close. I like the fact that you have 4.10's - I had 4.56's with the 503 and a 4k stall. Perhaps one of the newer XFI profiles is for you. I would strongly suggest something like the 268XFI HR-13. Don't skimp on the valvesprings with that cam. And, use 1.6 rockers with it as it was designed to be used with 1.6 rockers.

rather than trying to get the best cam for the money, take off your heads, and get a valvejob and have them do a pocket port. that way you can have a medium sized cam that will make the same power as a cc306 but without the revving and harshness on the valve train.

Or just do a damn SEARCH and stop asking what will work when 500 people have told you allready. Why ask if you are limiting yourself to the two cams anyway, just pick one and go with it

CC503 with a set of ported heads is going to be an awesome setup. Not the 305 but yes to the 503!
