Comp CC 305 vs. Comp CC 306
Thats what i've been saying for the last 20k miles. My car has 202k on it now and i rev it to 6800 all the time, the car made 366 RWHP runs 12.3's @114 full weight.
i can just get a 305 really cheap is it htat bad of a cam? or is the 503 THAT much better also.......
Comp Cams 986 dual coil springs:
are these good springs for like a cc503 or 305 size cam maybe alittle smaller and any machine work need to be done to install?

Not to make anyone one mad or anything, but you this was my thread asking which would be the better cam for what I was planning, its in the process of being done now, so I need to deceide on the parts and get them order, to get this thing back together by the end of the month, would love to be able to cruise around at the events that come around at the first of October at home here........
Well thats what I am leaning towards is the 306, because it would be a good came later also for a rebuild, correct me if I am wrong, but it would be good cam for a 383 stroker also.......
It will work in a stroker application, but I wouldn't suggest reusing a cam, especially if you're going to wait for this motor to pop before you build it. Buy what's appropriate for THIS motor, because there's a good chance you'll wind up buying another cam when you do the swap anyways.
Its been done before, only if everything is right and the tune is spot on will you get close. I would say more realistically you will be at around 340 max.
There you go. The 503 in my opinion is what you want. Forget about the heads and all that other garbage. Your gears are going to determine what range the motor will see. Any more than the 503 and you are killing your bottom end and et. Plus, it will work with the nitrous well. It's all about keeping your motor in its powerband down the track. I blew away 306 and 847 guys all the time 11.70's cam only. Peak power on the dyno was at 5800 and held to about 6350 when it started to drop slightly.
