Come to Stop, Oil goes to Zero!!??

I am posting this for friend who is having a realllly strange problem. It is a hotcammed 94 camaro, and when he comes to a fast stop, or is driving down hill, his oil pressure goes to zero, and his check gauges light pops up, for about 5-10 seconds, then goes away? We already did a oil change to make sure there is proper oil amount in the motor, but why is it doing this? Thanks Guys

sounds like its either low on oil or the pick-up tube fell off

Not to be a bummer or anything but my car did this same type of thing before it finally lost all oil pressure. Spun a bearing. Id say be careful with it and have it checked real soon.

the funny thing is this is a brand new lt4 bottom end. He spun a bearing in his old motor, and this one is brand spanking new. Id say it has 1000miles on it the most. So you think the oil pick up tube could have came off huh...Do you mean the one in the intake manifold, or the one attatched to the oil pump?

Attached to the pump. A way to check is drain the oil then hit the bottom of the pan with a rubber mallet and listen for anything bouncing around in the pan... that would be the pickup tube.
