coil replacement

Hi. Is it recomended to replace the coil module
when replacing the coil? 88,000 miles on both.

I don't think it is recommended, but you can always go with a MSD coil and Module. Probably together they are $200, but I think well worth it.

The module usually works or doesn't. I don't see a need to change one that is working.

I've got 143K miles on my original ignition module with no problems. I did own a MSD coil for 10K miles and it crapped out. Presently running a Crane coil with no issues for 40K miles.

Do you gain anything by replacing Stock Coil? I heard it will burn fuel at a better rate then stock. Like if you run a higher octane gas it will burn it better??? Do you have a Part # and price for Crane Coil? Aslo what would have caused the MSD Coil to crap out that early?
