Coil

Just got a new hypertech 57k volt coil, put it on car, car started up was fine, dies right down the block. Get home and noticed that the pigtail from the harness is nearly gone, the part that connects to the coil itself. Went to autozone, got a new one, wired it into the car. Now its no start and no spark....not sure whats going on. Any ideaS? ICM is a new dyna mod as of three weeks ago, coil fired up once, wires are all good, ext. All fuses are good relays ext.

Re: Coil

What happens when you try to start the car? Lights on the dash, engine turn over, any noises?

Re: Coil

Turns over fine, but no spark from the coil at all, took coil off reconnected it nothing. Not sure what wires go where as i had to put new pigtails on it. Probably the problem. its a 94, for some reason it never had the white wire connected to anything and ran fine before....im lost lol.

Re: Coil

I would dump the hypercrap coil and put a stock coil on with stock wiring

how did the "pigtail from harness" get "nearly gone"?

you may also have fried your ICM if the coil shorted out...

Cannot run without the white wire. That's the pulse signal from the PCM that tells the ICM to fire the coil. If that circuit is open, sets a code in the PCM.
