Codes that run both fans..

Codes that run both fans..

I was wondering, what trouble codes, make both of your fans run at all times?

This is just another one of my problems, from another topic that I posted...(can't communicate with pcm)

I have an obd1, 94'z 383-LT1, A4 swapped to an M6.

Lol, ah no way. Thats not the answer I was hopin' for...I guess I'll start with my wiring problem first, then I'll deal with the SES light/both cooling fan problem.

thought I would bring this back to life because I have the same problem on my 94 z28.I did have mine scanned today and it's showing Torque converter quad drive module and something like EGR quad drive.

Codes are essential, particularly when the 94 does not have quad driver modules. 93 was the last year for that. That's the problem with using a "generic" code list, or relying on the generic code display that is provided by some scanners.

well here is the deal, I bought this car with no engine or pcm. I had to buy a pcm from a tuner. The car doesn't have any emissions on it at all but they are still programmed in the pcm to run. Will this set a ck engine light? As for codes there was no number just said Torque converter quad driver failure and egr quad driver failure. We were using a Snap on scanner like they use at most mechanic shops. I did call the tuner that I bought the pcm from and he said he thinks the pcm may be bad or possible since the codes are not turned off for all the emissions that it may be setting the light and putting it in limp mode. From monitoring with the scanner all the sensors are working fine but it's really rich possibly from limp mode.

It will set codes if the EVAP and EGR solenoids and AIR pump are not connected (with a faulty fuse in the AIR circuit). Using the incorrect code list, those will show up as "quad driver" problems. Swapping to the M6 means the PCM is still looking for the 4L60E electronic control interfaces inclduing the TCC lockup, and can't find them, which sets codes. Common code in a 94 is DTC 29 for the AIR pump. That definitely turns on both fans. The cure is to put a good fuse in the AIR circuit, even if the pump is disconnected.

For the exact determination of the meaning of the codes, you need an LT1-specific code list. Shoebox has one on his website.

I'm guessing you got DTC 26 and DTC 27. Look at the right side column for the 1993 code description, and you will see references to the quad-driver modules. But you have to use the left hand side of the page, for the 94/95.
