Code 48 - MAF sensor circuit

What does this mean, do I need a new MAF?

First check to see if it is plugged in correctly..... But when my car threw that code i had to replace it......

I had the same prob, just haven't replace it yet. I wonder how much if any it hinders performance. I haven't felt anything different.

Does your car have a tune? I guess basically, if the MAF's not working, it's using the MAP sensor (speed density) instead. Which isn't good for me.
