code 32- egr fault. what should i do?
i pulled the codes and received a code 32, which is egr related. My questions is, is there a way to bypass the egr system? If so are there and disadvantages to doing this? In my mind, i would think bypassing it could increase performance and in a worst case senario, if no increase in performance, it would remove one potential problem to repair in the future. Is my perception of this right or wrong?
thanks in advance

Did you check the EGR valve? Does it need cleaning, maybe replacement?
There is absolutely no performance gain by removing the EGR system... it doesn't operate at WOT. Under part load, typically lugging the engine in the wrong gear, it can reduce the chance of detonation. If you have rolling emissions testing, it can help you pass.
A leaking valve will cause problems, so totally removing it will eliminate that kind of issue.
The OBD-I diagnostic test doesn't seem to be as sensitive as the OBD-II test, so not everyone gets a code from OBD-I EGR removal. But your system seems to be capable of setting a code, so you might need to program the valve "out" of the computer by setting the actuating parameters outside reasonable limits.
