Code 32 EGR fault

If I'm driving in a lazy manner - 65 MPH or so in 6th gear - I frequently throw code 32 - EGR I believe. The car runs fine still and the SES resets on the next startup. I stress that this only happens when being lazy in top.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Unusual to get DTC 32 on an OBD-I car, but it is possible. In your case, only happening at low rpm in a high gear (exactly the time EGR is needed), could be a combination of low exhaust back pressure and a partially plugged EGR valve/passages. Might want to pull the valve and try cleaning it.

Many thanks - recently installed Pacesetter shorties and the car runs and SLP TODL so that would concur with your low back pressure idea I guess.
