code 22?
code 22?
i have a 1995z with 160k miles on it..........the code 22 came up meaning tps right?? well i went out to get a new one today, and im wondering how it goes on properly....i started the car and the lil nub turned, and it sat on there perfectly....and the code still comes up..do i have to clear the codes or something?? or could it be something else thats triggering the tps code to come up?? thank alot
Re: code 22?
Does the car run right, it's just throwing the code? When I broke my tps sensor the car would idle fine but would shift at like 3000rpms even at WOT. After replacing it worked fine. It's a $25 dollar part. Very straightforward and easy to swap as well. I do believe you sometimes have to clear codes but I'm not certain about that. You'd think resolving the problem would cause the SES to just turn off.
Re: code 22?
The code stays stored in the PCM until a certain number of "drive cycles" are completed, without the problem recurring. Pull the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30 seconds, with the ignition key "off". That will clear the codes. The fuse is located in the underhood box on the 95's (all other years are in the dash panel).
Re: code 22?
Have a look at the DTC link in my sig. It's got the diagnostic chart and description/reference schematic page for DTC 22 listed. Being that yours is a 95 it may not be 100% correct, but should be very close if not the same.
