Code 1626 Anti theft system-Fuel enable circuit. What does that mean?
I just bought a 1996 Z28, M6 with only 57,000 miles on it the other day. I was starting the car up and it takes a few extra cranks before it fires. Check the normal stuff (fuel pressure, ignition, etc.) and it all checks out fine. So I figure to run my Snap-on scanner and see if it has any codes. It came up with the code: 1626 Anti-theft system--fuel enable circuit. The car will fire up, but it takes a few more cranks than I like. What does that code mean? The previous owner has some sort of non-factory alarm system on it with remote start. Is this code saying that VATS isn't working right? Can I have Bryan at PCMforless take out VATS completely if this is the case and not run into this code anymore? Thanks for any help!
