Code 1441

Does anybody know what this code is? Or what it does? it comes up as manufactures emmission code and crappy autozone can't tell me anything more.

It has to do with the EVAP system monitor. Check all lines and connectors from the solenoid to the cannister. Could also be the EVAP canister purge control solenoid.

It has to do with evaporative emissions (the charcoal canister system). The purge valve may be getting clogged by the charcoal in the canister breaking up and getting sucked into it (the valve). You might try checkin out the purge valve to see if its gummed up. It is on the left side on the intake manifold, sort of near the rear. Look on the emissions sticker in the engine compartment for a diagram of what it is connected to, it will help you locate it!

EVAP purge solenoid is on a bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold, right in the middle. The gray harness test connector for the Opti is on the same bracket. Shoebox has a photo of it, showing the correct arrangement of the hoses. If the hoses are incorrectly connected, it could cause the code to set.
