Code 14 Engine Coolant Temperature

So the other day my SES light came on and I scanned it and its Code 14. This means that it was sensing above 284 degrees if I remember correctly. I checked it and it was stuck at 304 degrees, so I guess my sensor is toast. It still displays the right temp on the dash though. So which sensor is this, the one by the water pump?

Correct! But before you buy a new sensor give the old one a quick OHM check to make sure its not a wiring issue.

The dashboard gauge uses the sending unit in the drivers side head. I believe the sensor for the PCM is on the water pump.
