20 psi of oil pressure(even with higher rpms)

Well I put a f-body LT1 into my 95 Imp SS. The oil pressure would go up to twenty psi and wouldn't go up with higher rpms. Do you think this is caused by a bad oil pump? I found out the motor I bought had a blown head gasket after 10 minutes of run time so I have to tear it back down anyway. Might as well throw a new pump in. Is there a way to check an oil pump without taking it out?

Thanks
Brandon

Are you relying on the factory gauge? If so, try testing it with a mechanical gauge first.

I would replace it anyways. I hate to leave those kind of parts and then worry about them later on.

i agree, better safe than sorry, and get one of the "white" springs for the pump.
