Clutch/flyheel recommendations?

I killed the stock clutch on my 1995 Z28 and am hoping to get some feedback on recommendations for clutches and/or flywheels.
The Z is stock with a T56 6-speed manual transmission. No mods yet, but some small ones will probably come around down the line so I'm thinking heavy duty street application. I'm trying to stay around $300 for the clutch, and not more than $200 for the flywheel. Some brands I've been considering are Ram, Hays, and Zoom; all available from Summit. Can't afford SPEC. Any feedback appreciated.

The OEM is pretty good. I am not sure what you can get one for, but I'd consider that alternative if the price is in the ballpark.

I would recommend going with either a RPS clutch or a Ram clutch.

I have the McLoed dual friction clutch with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel. I love it.

I just bought the replacement kit from Advance Auto after reading about it on this board.
Sure enough, it came with the LT4 pressure plate. I think it must be the only one Valeo is still producing since it is considered an upgrade for the LT1 unit.
It was $237 for the kit and is manufactured by a division of Zoom.
Another option to consider!

That kit is ok, but the disc that comes with it is a POS.

You can find Valeo kits with a VALEO disc on ebay for about $250. A very good deal IMO. I would just keep your stock flywheel and have it turned.

I'd recommend going with a stock clutch. Heck the one that just went lasted eight years... Unless you plan on taking up some serious drag racing or significantly adding power the stock clutch is fine. Probably you can just have the stock flywheel turned too. Of the aftermarket clutches I hear about, the Spec and McLeod are the two most reliable. If the spec is beyond your budget I would not recommend going with anything but an OEM. Too many variables, and diagnosing/fixing problems quickly becomes very expensive.
