Check my cam install checklist and see if I'm missing anything...

Basically I'm doing an Opti/CM Cam Kit/CSI WP/Double Roller. So here's what on the list to be ordered Monday:

CM 227/239 Cam kit W/ Hardened pushrods, gasket kit (timing, water pump gasket and seals, opti seals), and new blue something valve seals.

Intake Manifold gasket set

Vented opti

CSI WP

Cloyes Double Roller

I have all the tools, RTV, etc. etc. So if there are anything big thigns I'm missing pls let me know. The only thing that isn't being changed is the heads and valves and the lifters. Everything else will be new.

Thanks in advance, I'm so excited!!!

Replace the water pump drive shaft assy that has the bearing. The GM number is 10219554. It's $38.00 at Gmpartsdirect.com.

Believe it or not - you can reuse your intake gaskets. Here is the list of things you will need.

Timing cover gasket set (includes H2O pump gaskets, Opti O-rings, and new gaskets and seals for the timing cover)

Gasket sealant (I use permatex)

RTV

Oil Pan gasket (75% of us rip it when removing the timing cover)

Engine Assembly Lube

Antifreeze (Long life stuff)

Oil and filter of your choice (non Synthetic oil since you will want to change it in a few hundered miles)

EGR line Gasket

One box of bandaids

You may want to get a set of those special tools for unhooking the fuel line (they are used for AC lines as well). You might want to put on a new EGR valve too.

If I think of anything else I'll add it to the list.

You don't need a new water pump drive shaft assy with your CSI setup. Might want to pick up a relay for your CSI waterpump. I'd leave the EGR valve alone if you have no problems with it, you can clean it if you want. Easiest thing is to get a gasket set from Thunder Racing if you don't like to mix and match gaskets from elsewhere. I refuse to reuse any gaskets other than the valve cover gasket. Get new fuel injector o-rings if you plan to separate the fuel rail from the intake manifold. Part number below.

This should help.. send your thanks to Shoebox

For gaskets, Felpro has a nice kit for the timing cover/opti/water pump. It's only $14 or so and has everything you'll need for that. I got that, Felpro intake gaskets, and injector o-rings from Autozone when I did my swap.

Good luck

Thanks for the responses guys. I actually have a couple questions now... I just replaced the EGR valve gasket and line gasket about 1500 miles ago so I think those will be okay or should I get new ones again? Also, my stock EGR is fine so it stays. I don't want to fix it if it ain't broken hehe. Besides if it ever does go bad I can take it out in about 2 minutes.

My lucas 38# injectors only have about 5k on them and the o-rings... should I get new ones anyway? I think I will as they are pretty cheap. I will be needing a valve springs compressor correct? Also, do the roller rockers come with locking nuts too??? Or do I need to get those separately?

Thanks!

EGR stuff should be ok. You don't even need to remove the valve. Take the intake off, complete with fuel rail and you don't have to worry about any o-rings. If you are getting CC Pro Magnums, they will come with the nuts (most other rocker arm "kits" would, too). I don't recommend reusing the intake gaskets.

Are you running the right valve springs for that cam?

Since your going with the double roller, I guess you're also removing that CPS reluctor ring??

Do you have to use a 94-95 style hub to accomodate for the difference?

DDZ/28 - How does one go about removing the CPS reluctor ring?
And using the 94-95 style hub? Im basically in the same boat except that I have a CC Xtreme 236/242 on a 110lsa just sitting in the garage while I collect parts.

Not too sure, as this is only what I've researched so far.

Hopefully someone can fill us in...
