There are some non vented models on EBay that are advertised as AC Delco for 205 plus 6 bucks for shipping. They have a black cap, which is why I inquired earlier. According to the guy I exchanged emails with, they don't have the part number stamped into them anywhere. He claims the AC/Delco units don't, but I'm almost certain the one I just put on my car had the part number stamped on an edge, or somewhere. That doesn't mean they all do and I also didn't get mine directly from a dealer as it was a second hand purchase. If they're legit, it's an awesome price.

I got a message from someone that bought one of the EBay units I referred to earlier. This person claims it's not an AC/Delco unit.
Here is a message I got from the vendor.
"The optispark units we have listed on ebay are Brand New AC Delco distributors, they come complete with the cap and rotor. The units are on clearance, hence the reduced price. The AC Delco optispark (part # 10457702 & 1104032) do not have a part number stamped on the casting...we have checked. Also the warranty is directly through us and is valid for the lifetime of the original vehicle it is installed on.
Thanks "

"its not an oem ac delco part. its an original equiptment reproduction, it worked out well for me, except for one thing the rotor was off about 60 degrees from my original opti-spark, but i took it to work with me one day and i was able to adjust it to the right angle. other than that it was fine, worked great."
I hope I'm not violating any board rules by posting this. Just a heads up. I was kind of shocked. The vendor certainly seems to present the part as an AC/Delco unit.
I can always post a link if necessary and allowed. The listing ended because they sold the four they had available. But I bet there will be more available in the future.

The ones I got from Jason Cromer, GM Dealer were the factory gold colored front with black sides. The center part that the wiring harness plugs into is white (unlike my factory original) The aluminum bracket on the back has a number stamped in it but its not the part#.
It not uncommon for a third party to be making parts for ACDelco and then they sell the their own manufacture part not in a Delco box for a lot cheaper.
I ran across this with the cam sensor on my Gn and TTA...made by Standard and you could get it at Autozone for $35 or go to the dealer and get it for $125 and they both had exactly the same makings and stamps and same exact colored paint markings on them....I bought both just to make sure..then I went and bought all the ones AZ could get as they were about to quit producing them...got about 8 of them now
and there is NO manufacturer for them currently.... But unlike that part, there is already several aftermarket Opti's so that should not be a problem if GM quite selling them.

1995-1997 Optispark units on Ebay for $129.95
These are the units with the black caps. At this price I had to buy one. The GM dealer, (here in Canada), wanted $265 for the rotor & cap alone. These are being sold by bestautomotive.
