Re: Cheap Horsepower

I guess my 95 Z28 is a freak then. My car is quicker/faster with the LPE CAI on it.

Re: Cheap Horsepower

I wont get into a dyno debate cause it clear that most everyone et faster on the cai. But I will say I bet the threw a cone on the tb with the maff missing or unplugged.
As far as cheap mods.
1. ebay cai w the tube maybe not the biggest gains but $50 as to $200.

2. duals off manifold ( they did it on many cars for years) or used headers, there are shorties floating around that are better than nothing. Also the wieght of stock exhaust is a ton. This mods is a cheap one if you do the labor yourself.

3. remove back seat backing. I rode in a ta missing the back and it wasnt bad at all. Rear belts can be removed too if no ones rides in backs. spare tire and jack get AAA plus. If your hard core you can remove your seats and put in plastics with covers. about what 80 pounds. My passanger seat was 43 with me holding it on my scale.

4. send pcm out to be programmed and delete the egr and air pump.
Improtant I know a someone that left the egr on and it failed and wouldnt throw a code so remove the stuff deleted plus the performance of the tune will help.
5. change fuel filter. I bet some guys here with alot of bolts on and maybe cams have never changed it and maybe hurting the pump or flow.
