you need to be a bit more specific on how much you're actually willing to spend or how much power you're trying to make. I'd say do the free mods (free obviously), then delete the cat and have a cutout put in ($30-$50), get some sticky tires ($200). those things will probably drop your ET's the most.

Re: Cheap Horsepower
no possible way that all the 20hp was from the airfoil...
most likely it was something else, air density, operating temp, better gas
normal variation in dyno results.
and i think the stat is a very worthwhile mod, particularly for southern states. my car runs consistently cooler, which is better for power (to a point).
and you don't have to have the fans reset, for everyday driving around stock is fine. now if you plan to keep the car running in the staging lanes...yeah a fan switch or new settings help. but on the street stock is sufficient

Re: Cheap Horsepower
I don't know how we did it but we ran the car 3 runs at about 6:45am without the air foil and then ran it 30min later with it and got close to 20 hp. sorry no dyno sheets. That was back in August while i was in school + the instructor kept the papers for a grade. we actually used a resistor in the IAT on a 99 Grand Prix GTP and gained 2 or 3 hp. Lost 45-50hp on the Tornado. Lost 20-30hp with a K&N Cold air intake.

how exactly did you put a cold air on the 2000 camaro SS??? What brand was it?? Dude, all this stuff your posting is sounding like a lot of BS to me. I mean come on there is no way you gained 20 horse from an Airfoil and there is no way you lost 20-30 with a cold air.
Back to the topic, I would just strap some nitrous to it. I had a 150 shot on my car for a while and it dropped my ET considerably. I dropped .2 on a failing fuel pump and a 75 shot. Then after I upgraded my pump, put in the 150 jets, and strapped some slicks to it, I beat a consistent 13.0 02 SS by about 2-3 cars 3 times in a row. So I estimate that I was in the high twelves somewhere aroun 12.8. But thats just an estimate, its all a different story at the track.
And if you plan on doing a nitrous kit the right way you better expect to spend around 1500 dollars for everything. I took the nitrous off the Bird because after a few launches on M/T Street Radials and spraying the 150 my rear end and clutch were making some god awful noises.

After Christmas tho I plan on more mods such as headers, ory, rear end griddle, shift kit, and a dyno tune by Jeff Creech
