cc306 in daily driver

does anyone have this cam in a daily driver. i drive my car at least 20 miles per day, mostly city driving. i just wanted to talk to someone who does the same thing. i already have 4.10's so i dont think it will be that bad. but i would still like to talk to someone who actually does this.

thanks,

david

Re: cc306 in daily driver

For you David, I suggest a "stocker" cam in the 270-280 @ .050 for a daily driver. A set of 5.13 gears would complement this cam well.

Re: cc306 in daily driver

I have it............with a good tune it has very little surge and drives great. I would never go back stock. (or smaller than cc306)

Re: cc306 in daily driver

actually steve i was thinking about something in the 290 range with about .675 lift, the only thing that deterred me is that i was informed i would have to run synthetic blinker fluid and get a sealed muffler bearing.

seriously though i do need to talk to you about the whole cam/heads thing, i will probably either be pm'ing you later on or stop by thunder sometime...

Re: cc306 in daily driver

I had one in my LT1, wouldn't go any smaller than a 306. I Hope your heads are ported. 4.10's or 4.30's would be awesome for that cam. I had 3.73's on mine and felt my car was way under geared.

Re: cc306 in daily driver

yea its fine save for maybe some stop and go traffic, but i wouldnt change it out. The idle definitely attracts a lot of attention. Other than that, i keep revs around 2k cruise in the first 4 gears, then can lug it down the highway at around 1700 or so at around 70mph

The 306 is a top end cam.

Re: cc306 in daily driver

that was my main worry..its a top end cam..but that might be a plus...i wont be using much power just to float around town so low end power isnt a huge concern..hell might spare me some gas mileage with the lower gears.
