Little bit of a "Fixer Upper "
Well hello peeps. I am lucky enough to soon be getting my dad's 1989 Chevy Camaro Irocc-z 28 with the 5.7 350 Tpi engine and a whole lot of fun. There is just one slight problem: it's been sitting in an uncovered storage lot for about four years. There are so many things that I would like to do to it but can't make up my mind. It obviously doesn't run but hope to soon be changing that. Everything is currently original minus the steering wheel and normal were plus tear nick nacks but other than that, that's it. I am told to get the beast rebuilt top to bottom and keep it as original as possible but I don't know if that is what I want. I'm thinking of making it more of a performance vehicle but something that can also be a daily driver. Mabe do an engine swap from the origonal L98 to a Lt1. Just don't know yet but the decision will soon come. Love the page so far and hope to hear so feedback from you guys and girls. Thanks in advance ...

Welcome to CamaroZ28.com!!!
Good to see a new 3rd Gen owner on the site. We seem to have mostly 4th Gen owners these days. What you do with the car is your personal choice. But if it's in good condition, keeping it close to stock and restoring it would make a lot of sense. With regard to the engine, the L98 can make decent power, and is known for strong torque. If you are looking for a big jump in HP, and considering a power adder, the LT1 or LS1 makes a lot of sense.
Good luck with the car...... and pictures are always appreciated.

When you get your album open (the page showing thumbnails of all the photos in the album) , click on the picture you want to link. When it opens, copy and paste the entry from the "BB Code" field into the post.
