I guess having an opinion is bad??? I guess my car isn't a real American V8
I am apt to go along with IDOXLR8. American V8? Probably so, but sounds like one in a dump truck. Just MHO. I prefer refinement over raw.

I have loudmouth on mine and I have gotten nothing but compliments about it. Everybody, including import guys and mustang guys, loves the sound of it. I vote for LM

I was curious to know if anyone has ever used the Edelbrock cat back. I have been looking for one, and I like the sound of the edelbrock, and it is relatively the same as the rest of the systems as far as construction. I have a sound clip of it, they do not have horsepower claims, but I know that E-brock is a respectable company, and if anyone can give me any input, that would be great (and please don't tell me to get a cutout, the car only sees the track a couple of times a year).

Also, if anyone can tell me how to post a sound clip, that would be great.

My buddy has the Edlebrock catback and it sounds nice. It's a very deep mellow tone. Not raspy at all. It's also a reasonable price for a catback.

so long tubes with strait pipes sound ****ty? I heard an ls1 like that which sounded terrible but figured it might be different on the lt1... I just like the idea of it being as free flowing as possible and a muffler is a restriction but if it sounds like ****....

The thing with the LM is sure it is deep as hell, but it reseambles a truck's exhaust. Which is absolutely horrid on a car. If you are like me you want an exhaust that is very clean sounding. You don't want import crowds to like it, because I haven't heard a clean import exhaust yet, all they like is loud. When I was looking for an exhaust, I was looking for a starting point and work outward from there. I wanted the cleanest sound I could get with a deep sound to it also. LM is loud, but clean it is not. If money is the factor, screw catbacks all together and get a $30 cut out. Louder than any catback, more hp, and alot cheaper. As a bonus if you go on long trips you can plug it up and have the stock sound again.

Thumbs up Borla w/e-cutout

That Borla with the Electronic cutout is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. While the Borla exhaust may be a little pricey, it IS clean. Very clean. And with neat little 007 style tricks like that...I'm thinking I've just decided on my next purchase.

Well I am going to be the odd ball out of the group...I have American Thunder Series II Flowmaster exhaust, and it sounds bad a$$! Everywhere I go...they car sounds good...what is it? I say Flowmaster and they are like....what? This is Borla and doesn't sound as good as Flows. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking on anyones Borla set-up....but for 600 bucks! All your doing is paying for stainless steel! Personally...Iknow if your going to do something right the first time...do it. But I can not see paying that much money for a cat-back. A lot of the F-bodies around where I live have changed over to Flows. I know of three that just bought Flows in the past 4 months. But it just comes down to experimenting which one that youlike personally...not what everyone else has. I just thought I would be the odd ball since nobody ever talks about Flowmaster....its the same as everything else...3" I-pipe, not stainless steel...but the price is 280 in Summit Racing!

The biggest problem with Flowmaster is you don't get much of a hp increase. It flows absolutely horrible. That is why we call it the Flowlessmaster. Plus it like to pop quite a bit.

That is not true. I know plenty of people running good number with flowmasters.
