Re: carbureted lt1 help please
You use a conventional SBC distributor. The LT1 intake manifold can be drilled to accept it, at the back. Then the manifold needs a shim to get the distributor to the correct height.
At this point, what you are putting it in becomes important, because the 4th Gens have an issue with the distributor and the cowl, while earlier models may not. Then there's the issue of what year/model chassis harness you are interfacing with.

What year is the Camaro you are going to put the LT1 into?

Re: carbureted lt1 help please
The GMPP carbed intake is not a real performance piece. Far as I know it is made by Edelbrock and I would compare it to their entry level "performer" intakes for the gen 1 engine. This is a low rpm dual plane intake likely to increase torque and reduce hp compared to the stock LT1 injection manifold.
Far as a distributor even with low profile I bet you have to pull the intake and distributor at the same time to pull the distributor unless you cut on the car. Far as what would work without a computer you just need something equivalent to an old HEI. There are millions probably even 10s of millions of gen 1 SBC engines out there without a computer.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Where did you find the intake? Do ya have a link?
