Ok so i went to car care clinic and had the car scanned today and these codes came up p0100a p0102a p0161b p0300b p1380b p1381b p01642a fuel pressure 1psi MAP was at 1.9 volts MAF G/S (what ever that means) INJ pulse with bank 1 14.1ms INJ pulse with bank 2 17.7ms Long term 0.0% Long term 25%. Car wont start they said it was a fuel pump but i just had a walbro put in could it be the fuel pressure regulator?? Any help would be great thanks!

There are a few codes there that I have now expirence with. but from some of the others I would check the fuses, especialy the engine sensors fuse. but I would clear out the codes and see what returns. you can also use this link to test for spark and fuel. http://mainstreamtopics.com/forums/i...p?showtopic=78 but the information you provided is scetchy. was that real time key on info or freeze fram data?? you need to run a fuel pressure test.

 

Don't worry about the codes if your pressure is as you wrote at 1PSI. You should double check the pressure yourself. If the pressure truly is low as you say then check the fuel pump relay for proper power. This can be done by putting 12V directly to the fuel pump prime connector. Be sure you have a full 12V or more from the battery. This will go directly to the pump bypassing the relay. If you still get no pressure, the pump is probably bad. If you do get proper pressure then you have another issue.

I have seen many people here post that they used a Walbro pump and shortly there after, it crapped out. So you MAY NOT be alone.

Have all the codes cleared and try the engine again after resolving the fuel pressure issue. At that point, then start dealing with each code if they come up and depending on what they are. But keep in mind just cause you get a code for a sensor of some sort, that does not mean the sensor is bad. What I'm getting at is, don't replace anything cause of a code without first doing some testing to prove or disprove the thing works. I hate wasted money from shotgun troubleshooting. Just thought the gun thing was appropriate.

P0300 Random misfires
P1380 EB(T)CM rough road, data unusable (brake/traction control)
P1381 Misfire detected when no brake/traction control serial data
P1642 Fan Control (FC) relay 2 and 3 control circuit

Could be as simple as a blown fuse, bad ground, damaged wiring harness.

Not sure how they could to a fuel pressure diagnostic with a scanner - there is no fuel pressure data sent to the PCM. Did they actually hook up a pressure gauge? As Spinner points out, worry about the fuel pressure first. Do you have any way to hook a gauge up and check the fuel pressure yourself?

 

yes they hooked up a guage and i watched him do it so i saw the 1psi Dave where is the fuel pump prime connector??
