car stumble on the freeway, around 2000 RPM under light throttle, only when in OD

yeah as the subject says, i went to vegas last night, and i notice that my car stumbles if i push the gas pedal slowly, this will not happen if i push the gas pedal quickly.....it only happened from 2000 RPM and above.....i also notice that, it only stumbled when i'm in OverDrive gear.....it never stumbled when i'm in third or second...only in over drive........another thing is it only stumbled for 200 RPM only...for ex. i go at 80 MPH at 2300RPM, then i pushed the gas pedal a little bit to get it to 85 MPH, it would stumble until it reached 2500RPM then it stopped. is this my tranny or my plug wire?? i doubt it is the plug wire because it didnt happen in lower gears, can this be my tranny?? my tranny only 3000-4000 miles less than 4 months old....i didnt abuse it, i hardly push it to the max.....thanks for reading, and please help me

Check the TPS for a smooth reading with a dvom make sure it does not jump or drop out, then go onto ignition problem...
Use the KISS principle-Keep it simple stupid, Don't read into a problem to hard in the beggining or you'll be in a big mess. check all the easy stuff first, reset the computer, check fuel press., tps, etc: before the major stuff starts..j/m/o

Smile Hmm...

I am the new guy here, but I would check your fuel filter. It's probably starting to get clogged.

as above check simple stuff first. If none of that pans out you could have a clogging EGR valve. It sounds more like the TPS to me though

i am having a similar problem. mine is more of a chugging. its not a miss or any hesitation. i have not fixed the problem yet but from searching on here i came to the conclusion that it may be egr, o2 sensors, and possibly opti. i have an m6 and i notice it around 1500 to 2000. i can really feel it in third and fourth. if i figure it out i will let you know.

Unhappy

I seem to have this same problem with my 94 Z on the highway and in 4th gear I would say. It only seems to happen when it is either really hot outside like maybe mid 80s-90s and when I am running the A/C a lot. I dunno if this is the same symptons of everyone else's problems? It chugs at about 2,000-2200 RPM I'd say like almost as if I am running out of gas even though the tank is full. Anyway I did a lot of reasearch on this last summer. I came the the possible conclusion it just may be carbon buildup in either the intake and/or the EGR valve, basically cleaning both out with carb spray supposidly would change this problem. I used a few bottles of STP fuel injector cleaner, gas treatment, for a few tanks and had my intake sprayed out with carb cleaner which seemed to maybe solve the problem. I haven't driven it since summer so don't know if the problem is fixed or not. Another problem I was having was idling which I think was fixed by these few things. It would rev up on its own to about 1500 RPM while idling. The Idle air control valve was fine. So I would like some info on this topic and maybe these few things would help you guys.
