You can't compare the LS1 derived cast iron Silverado engines to the LT1... the entire cam and valve train setup is completely different.

Jesel made prototype 1.7 RR's for the LT1 in 1995. I was offered a set for $1,300.... a bit on the pricey side. They were run on a nitrous LT1 raced by Bryan Truppi in the mid 90's. The car was pretty fast for the time. Truppi-King High Performance did dyno testing for Jesel at the time. Don't know if they were ever sold commercially. But I suspect that 1.7's have been done on other LT1's. The Jesel and T&D shaft rockers are 1.7's. If you need that kind of lift, just get a cam with the correct grind, and run CC Pro-Magnum 1.6's.....

Scorpion makes some 1.7 RR for LT1. Here is a post from our local KY Fbodies site where a guy switched from 1.6 to 1.7 RR with hotcam and picked up a few RWHP.

Do what Fred said and get a cam ground with more lift...cheaper and way easier....

Sar2k uses 1.7's in his LT1. Do a search or drop him a line. He's always replied when I've emailed/pm'd him.

The RR off of your 2000 5.3L truck is LS1 based, which has a completely different valve train design, so you cannot swap the RR from your truck to your LT1.

looking at the price of the Scorpion rockers, these things don't cost any more than regular 1.6 rockers (and in some cases quite a bit less). I would think this would be a great way to run additional lift without having to significantly change the RPM range of whatever cam you choose, and without having extreme lifter ramp angles...I don't see the disadvantage here?

I think the same and this will be great to run wit stock cam and then when we have cams will have bigger lift to.
