I agree with this. The reason I add 5.5 quarts is because that's how much it takes to show full on my dipstick. And I've seen no evidence at all that this amount is a problem in my engine.

Trey- quit callin' people dipsticks.

I put 5.0 qts in mine last time I changed it and its right at the top with a Mobile 1 filter.
BTW- Pre-oil cooler bypass it took 5.5qts.

This is off the subject, but which long filter do you run? For a Fram, the pf30 is stock, but I have been running the pf5 which is also listed for the 350 engine. I have had no problems, but I was just curious in case the drainback valve was different or anything.

I currently run the K&N HP3002, but am switching to the Wix 51060 since the K&Ns are being phased out at the store I was getting them at up here (and even if they didn't, they were $14 on sale, while the Wix ones are $8 here)
