Question Califonia Duster hurts paint???

A body man not too long ago told me that dusters that work with an oil base in the long run hurts the paint...

Just wanted to know what is true to this & what explanation there is...

thanks, Mike

Not if you don't press down when you use it. Essentially you just glide the tips of the strands across the paint, and the Paraffin wax uses static charge to pick up dust.

Absolutely not. Like DohHunter said, if you don't press the duster down on the paint, you should be OK. I have just started using one and it works great.

Just lightly 'tickle' the strands over the surface and then follow up with some Z-6 or your favorite quick detailer to remove any paraffin wax that might have come off from the duster.

On my Black Car I can see it leaves "some" swirls but its much better than washing your car everyday or using a towel..

I felt the same way... I have been using the CA car Duster for 4 or 5 years and never had any problems.-... Just wondering why someone would come up with that...
