What engine?

Let me know, and I'll move the post to the correct "tech" forum.

Sure you can. I'm making 500 RWH + on a completely stock bottom end motor. I know of several others also. One guy is running 9.58 @ 140 mph + on a stock crank. Make sure your car is tuned well though.

Yes but not for very long. Your motors life is numbered at that power level.

500hp you better look into a forged crank and rods.

Have you seen a crank come apart because too much power was pushed through it? I have not heard of this happening much. Most cranks fail from repeated high RPM use, bad bearings, poor setup or something hitting it (broken rod etc.) from what I have been told. I am doing 355 lt1 with a 200 shot for my car right now and I do have forged rods (w/ ARP rod bolts) and pistons but I was told by a very reliable source that the stock crank is plenty strong. I don't plan on revving the car past 6100 or so though.

On a street car, you can do it. A forged setup is not really needed.

The things that will break the stock crank are RPM and heavy rods and pistons. The power is one thing but the RPM and load is what will break it.

3 years and counting. I'd like to know how many mid 9 second passes Jason Warren has on his stock LT1 crank. Quite a few I'd say. I have a 383 assembly to build once the stock motor goes. When that will be I don't know, but it still runs great. 75k stock shortblock.
