Can I fire up without sensors plugged in?

I just put in my new opti - don't have the water pump installed yet and I want to fire up and make sure I run OK. Do I have to reconnect the MAF, IAT, etc, etc? Or will she start and run without all of that stuff connected?

go ahead, may crank slightly longer without a MAF, but as long as the opti, coil, plug wires, TPS, IAC, MAP and injectors are hooked up, it will start

At least connect the harness to the coolant temp sensor, even if its not installed in the water pump. If it is left unconnected, the PCM will interpret it as -40*F and set an extremley rich cold start mixture. You can do the same thing with the IAT sensor. Just plug it into the harness. IAT doesn't have that much affect one way or the other, though.
