Can Anyone Help?
Can Anyone Help?
Just installed UD crank pulley last weekend. The car started and ran great for a few miles until it just died. The belt was slipping and not allowing the alternator to turn at appropriate speed. It started right up again and I was able to drive it home by keeping the rpm's up enough to charge. Today, I swapped the belt for a shorter one and the car just will not start. I tried jumping it off of my Toyota thinking maybe the battery voltage was just too low. The battery is only about 2 years old. It cranks over fine. When I turn the key to the "on" position, I can hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system, so I don't think that it is that. Just did a tune up about 2 years ago, approx 1,800 miles since then.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

New to the forum and just hoping that someone would see it sooner if I posted again today.
Just rechecked everything this morning and there are no loose electrical connections or anything. Is there a crank position sensor on the 95 LT1? If so where is it and could this be the problem?

Re: Can Anyone Help?
When it is cranking, it sounds normal but just doesn't start. Normally it would start as soon as I would hit the key.
It is just strange that when I backed it in the garage, It would shut off and start just fine, just had to keep the rpm's up. The car sat for a week until I had a chance to get the shorter belt, and now it doesn't hit at all.

Re: Can Anyone Help?
Will a TPS keep the car from starting or a MAF sensor keep the car from starting?
I just sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body and the car started and died.
I had disconnected both of these sensors last week when I did the throttle body bypass. But the car ran after putting everything back together.
Any thoughts?

Please do NOT double post. You are asked to post a topic only once, then permitted to "TTT" it no more than once in a 24-hour period. TIA for you cooperation. The other thread has been deleted.
As far as your problem, is it possible the bolts you used to install the U/D pulley were too long and hit the Opti?
Re: Can Anyone Help?
Thanks Fred for your input, but I thought of that as well. The bolts clear the opti just fine. I know the car is getting spark, it is just not getting fuel. I went to Auto Zone to have the TPS tested and it is fine. I also bought the OBDII scanner, however, it gives me a link error. I have eliminated the scanner as being faulty because it works fine on my 97 V6 Camaro.
I even reinstalled the stock programming and the scanner still doesn't link up. Could it be the ECM? I wouldn't think so since I was able to use the Hypertech programmer to reinstall stock settings. Just curious.
I appreciate any comments or suggestions on where to go next.

Re: Can Anyone Help?
yes I can hear the pump kick in and then kick off right before turning the key to "start". I seems kind of strange that the car would start and run with me revving the engine, sit for a week, then not start at all.
