Question Camshaft Install$$$$

On an average, those of you whom have had a cam installed...how much should it cost...for the install itself??? While I'm at it, what are some of the better cams for the Lt1's??? Thanks Jason

From the shop, it can be very expensive. The install on my new engine, bought from a friend, cost him $900 and that was from a performance shop with all receipts. Depending on how much you want or need there are several different options. If you want a Hot Cam kit you can get them from Jason Cromer for around $500 and that is everything you need. Or you can get a custom kit from combination motorsports tailored to what you want. I believe the CC305, hot cam, and 224/230 all pass emissions. If that isn't a concern then a CC306 or a 230/236 are great cams for beafier applications. The whole kits would run you anywhere from ~$500-$700. If you knew someone to install it or found someone on the board to do it, it would be cheaper. I heard it is a 4-6hr. job and if they work for ~$50 then it wouldn't be too bad.
