Exclamation Cams

I'm looking to put a cam in my 96 Z28. I have plenty of bolt ons. I have narrowed my cam search down to the LT4 Hot Cam Kit, the CC305 and the CC306. Obviously the CC306 is the biggest, and will sound and perform the best, but is this just too much for stock heads? What do you guys think I should do? Thanks

I'd go with the 305 if I were you.

Any special reason why? Is the 306 just too much out of the heads, and the hot cam just wouldnt be enough?

It really depends on what you're going for in your car. The 306 will work with stock heads.

Check out the post I made. Has plenty of info. It comes down to what you can afford. All 3 of those cams will work with stock heads. There are more cams that will work with stock heads as well.

Thanks guys....I will probably be going with the CC306 cam with my stock heads. I will throw on some Hooker Headers, a 58mm throttle body, 1.6 rockers, springs, heavy duty timing set, and all the seals and everything. The whole parts list will cost me around $2100 (uninstalled)...any other parts that should be installed with the CC306 cam?
Thanks in advance

Save $300 and don't get a 58mm TB, you don't need it unless you just like that cute little sucking sound it makes with a cai...unless you have a blower, turbo, or A LOT of N20 don't bother with a 58mm TB...the most I'd go is 52mm...

Especially with stock heads. Hell, I'll be using a stock TB for awhile with my heads/cam setup.

I forgot to mention I'll be getting the Crane Cams Hydraulic lifters. I'll also be getting 1.6 Crane Cam Roller Rockers...do you guys suggest self-aligning or non self-aligning?

NSA are better. But I would go with Pro Mag's and Comp R's instead.

Yeah the Pro Magnums are cheaper and lighter...thanks for the advice, I will get them. The 1.6 ratio won't require any modifications to my valve covers will they? I will also be getting the high energy pushrods. Thanks again.

With the 1.6rr's you'll probably have to "gut" your stockers, but they will have enough clearence with the stock valve cover.
