Camaro wont start. Thought i was crankshaft sensor

Camaro wont start. Thought i was crankshaft sensor

Engine code po336, changed the crankshaft sensor. Now the car just 'pop, pops when cranking..wont start either. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked the connector for corrosion or anything that can lead to a bad connectiion?

There is something else at fault here. The CKP cannot cause a no-start condition. The PCM only uses it to detect misfires and nothing else. Many times the CKP is programmed out of the PCM simply because to many people it's more of a nuisance than anything else.

That is what I thought also then I did a quick google search to verify and it said it can cause a no start condition.

Was that information SPECIFIC to the LT1 engine? In most engines, the cam and or crank position sensors are BOTH required to allow the engine to run. But in the LT1, the cam position sensor (the optical sensor in the Opti) is all that is required.

Mine does the same damn thing.... I'm gonna change out the optispark unit. Does yours backfire too?
