Arrow Cam Selection

I'm just curious what people think a good cam would be for my application. My plans are to have a 383 w/ AFR 190cc heads w/ 2.08 & 1.65, 52mm TB. Forged dished pistons 6.0 rods. Eventaully a D1 compressor at around 18+*. I want this to be streetable, decent gas mileage. I want a power range of 2500-6500. T56, and either 3.73s or 4.10. 42* injectors will probably be used. Maybe a 150shot. I'd like to hear from you guys with 383s and forced injuction.

You may have better luck in the "Forced Induction" forum. If you do a search, you will find that there have been extensive cam discussions. Many people may be tired of re-posting their opinions again.

Couple of comments though. 42# injectors will be too small, though you certainly can use them prior to the blower. The 3.73 may be more gear than you need, and the 4.10's would definitely be too much. Most blower cars are running 3.73 or 3.42. If you are going to be running a blown 383, and are concerned with gas mileage, you had better rethink the financial aspects. These things can be expensive to build and keep running. However, your mileage shouldn't be bad depending how you drive it. There's no way it won't use a ton of fuel under boost, you need fuel to make power! Speaking of fuel, a major challenge in setting this kind of thing up is the fuel system.

To get back to cams though, I'll make it simple. The two cams that I have seen work really well in a street or street strip blower car are both "custom" cams from Comp. There's no reason someone else's similar lobes wouldn't be as good or better, but these are what I know.

1. CC XE lobes #3190/3192 on a 114LSA.
2. CC XE lobes #3192/3196 on a 116LSA.

Obviously, the right supporting parts need to be used: springs, pushrods, and rockers.

Good luck, and do a search.
