Cam kits in competition motorsports mag

Possible dumb questions here, has anyone seen the realy cheap, like under $250 cam kits in the competition motorsports catalogue? Forgive me for being a complete retard, but would any of those cam kits 'fit' an lt1, is there any reason why it wouldnt?
If everything would work ill probably be ordering me a cam kit soon.
Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, dumb, a waste of time, etc etc

I don't know that mag, but a couple of things come to mind. Are you looking at roller or flat tappet cams? A roller cam alone, not a "kit" is going to cost at least $250. And yes, an LT1 needs the nose of the cam machined differently than a regular SBC cam, though it is otherwise the same. So, the cam must be LT1 specific.

Cool Re: Cam kits in competition motorsports mag

the kits i was looking at had lifters and i think pushrods included. What i was looking at was a hydralick roller setup, but thanks for explaining everything to me i wasnt sure if they had to be lt1 specific or not.
Thanks!
