Cam install!!!HELP

I am bout to purchase my LT4 hot cam kit and a lunati timing chain kit. I am wondering if anyone know what gaskets i will be needing to install it from the front with out removing the motor. Also a run down of what other things i might need. Gaskets i know of : intake manifold gasket, timing cover gasket set, any more?

Re: Cam install!!!HELP

I know there are gasket sets that you can buy...I believe from thunderracing.com they have a cam swap gasket set.

LT1/LT4 Camshaft Swap Gasket Package Includes: GM Front Timing Cover Gasket, GM Opti-Spark Seal, GM Crank Seal, GM Water Pump Drive Seal, GM EGR Gaskets, GM Throttle Body Gasket, GM LT1 or LT4 Intake Manifold Gaskets, GM Valve Cover Gaskets, GM Water Pump Gaskets

That is the gasket set from thunderracing.com that they recommend. That is for cam swap only, there are more gaskets needed if you want to swap the heads also. As far as other parts...I don't think you need any. Unless you want to change lifters or ad a Hydra rev kit or something like that...maybe guide plates all depending on the lifters. Other than that a friend and tools. Good luck.

Fwiw I wouldn't really go with the lunati timing chain, i did a seach on it a while back when i was doing my cam. The lunati set isn't any better than stock. Other than that tagz pretty much covered it all.

Re: Cam install!!!HELP

And with the LT4 kit rockers, they are self aligning so you don't need hardened rods.. or guideplates..
