Do you have a video or sound clip of the 502 cam?

God I have never heard of the police being able to send you in for sniffer. I say move out of california. You have limitations to how deep you can take a breath in that state.

Other than that, get electric cutout through a very tame exhaust.

What are the cam specs for the LE1 cam?
- Advertised Duration
- Duration @ 50
- Lobe Separation Angle
- Intake Center Line

How much overlap?

Do exactly what Lloyd said, get a cam that is not too big, but just enough for you set-up and get a good tune. Watch for excessive overlap. I've heard of guys running around with the 847 in CA.

There are a lot of guys in California doing that. It doesn't really matter that it's not a CARB approved cam, as long as it passes the visual and sniffer your cool. This is were the tune comes in and the last time I checked a camshaft is not part of the visual.

Keep the noise down to a minimum too. I have been running around with long tubes and an ORY, connected to a Hooker cat-back for a couple of years now. No issues with the Police. Trust me, I'm not the only one with these same mods. When your in residential and around the Police, keep your cool. You should be doing that anyways.

You also don't have to be outside of this state to get away with not having to smog. Move up North. My brother has his car registered at my moms house in Mendocino. (No smog.)

LOL I love how this thread came back to life. The LE1 cam that I was going to use is not the same specs as the current LE1 cam. I would still prefer to not directly post the specs on here, even though it is not his current grind, out of respect to lloyd.

To reiterate(sp?) what happened when i got pulled over, I was driving down a 35mph limited area doing 35 in 4th gear with 3.42 gears. in other words, I was at a low RPM and got pulled over for "looking like a street racer" in the officer's words. and yes, this is legal in my area given an access amount of attention brought upon the police force since they killed a guy who was innocently attending a car meet late at nite a while back.

Also, I am not going to move over a horsepower addiction. thats what pre-smog cars are for. moving out of san jose, ca is a one way street for my age. I am going to enjoy living in this area as long as possible!
