!CAGS question

I have a 95, and I just removed the wires from my PCM. My friend has a 96, and he hates his CAGS. I can get the resistor from radio shack and do the mod, but how do I make the light go away? I know cutting the actual CAGS wire on the PCM will make an SES light go off, but what about the wire that makes the indicator on the dash light up? Can I just cut that with no codes? Thanks guys.

Yeah, thats for a 94 and 95, I've done that to mine. I need it for a 96, I know how to use the resistor, just take a 2.2 kOhm 1/2 watt resistor and stick it in the wire, but how do I disable the light? This is for a 96, I dont want to throw any SES lights. Thanks though.

The problem with doing that is the light still goes off. I can get a 25 cent resistor and do the exact same thing, saving $24.75 + s&h I want to get rid of the light. Shoebox?
