Burnt wire.......now what?

K guys...as you al know got my stroker done and in. Everything is terrific, greater than I could have imagined. Took it out for the 4th time and it was missing. I found my #6 wire hitting the #2 header tube and was burnt just through the rubber barely seeing white. What kinda probs will I expect with that and can I just heat wrap it for now?????

These are brand new Taylors. I put them in while dropping in the motor and with the wires going behind the power steering pump, I'm sure its a biyatch to change out.

Whatcha guys recommendations on this?

I wouldn't trust a burnt Cylinder wire. It's better to just get a replacement. Are these Custom loomed or they the 50 dollar ones?

Your best bet is to replace that wire. Blood, sweat, or tears... I don't care how hard it is, you nut

Taylor makes replacement wires, it just a single wire in a pack with the proper hardware. I had to buy 3 after my header instal.

Hey trans.....how did you replace yours??? any on the pass side? did you remove the power steering pump and all that or did you just reroute it?

Your PM box is full, but the answer I tried to send to you was I only removed the Alternator and you just have to loosen the PS pump. Its easy to loosen the pump, its just 2 bolts.

PM box.....sent messages was full. I was like "wtf". Anyway, thanks. Yeah I remember the ps pump. Just put that **** in last week mon.

Thanks again. Hey what kind off loss would I see if I ran that wire like this. I won't but just curious. I pulled it back and seems to run fine. Slightly burn, lil through the red where I can see a touch of white insulation.

Yep, I burnt one of mine too and ordered one of those kits from Thunder like a year ago. To this day I've not replaced it, one of my buddies lent me a stock GM wire and it's still in there.. have 7 Taylors and one GM wire lol.. I need to fix that

So it's not burnt all the way through? Not arcing at all? Yea, just wrap it up or whatever until you get that replacement. Keep it away from those primaries, they're hot, you dope
