taking apart plugs again -- shoebox
I was able to take apart all of the plugs that have a clip on the rear of the plug that you take off, then you release each pin, but on the ones that have the big rubber piece you pull out of the back I can't seem to release the pins. I can see the rectangle that the pin would latch up against (see pic http://users.cwnet.com/~kevmor/plugs/PDRM0063.JPG). I stabbed it all over w/ a really small needle thing, whats wrong?
Barrel tool? Is that one that goes around the whole pin? I tried pushing a paper clip (with a filed down tip) and i can push it into the notch in the front really far but it doesn't release...hmm. Do the pins look like the other ones I had in the pic (w/ the rubber plugs crimped on with the pins) do they have the same release clip?
Yeah, the barrel tool would go around the whole pin, but some pins can't be released with that tool. Whatever pin you have, there has to be a small tab on it that is keeping it from pulling out the back.
