Question Build-up questions

I have a couple questions on my block build up...this might belong in the advanced tech...but i don't think so....

anyway.

Setup: LE3 Heads, LE3 Cam. Stock Vette 4-bolt LT1. All bolt ons. Stage 2 A4.

1. Which head gasket would best suited for this application? no nitrous. no blower.

2. Roller Rockers. Should i use NSA rockers or can i get by with SA rockers? i am definitely going to use 1.6rr. What is the big difference? besides the higher RPM capacity of NSA with guidplates?

3. Hyd Rol Lifters....Recommendations? i can get by with just some replacement lifters right? i should i bump it up to some Comp Cams lifters?

4. Timing Chain...stock? or should i get the Extreme Duty setup? I might make a few passes at the track, but it's mostly a daily driver. And i won't be using an elec water pump so a double roller is out of the question.

Any assistance is appreciated.....

Re: Build-up questions

1- I use the felpr-1074 head gasket which is thiner than stock, so it should bump up the compression some and is a high performance piece.
2- The NSA rockers are also supposed to be quiter. If you already have the SA, then you can use them, if you'de have to get new ones then go with the NSA with 7/16" studs.
3- Original GM Crane, or Comp stock replacements are fine.
4- Stock replacement chain is fine, ED is better.

Re: Build-up questions

You must decide what your HP goal is and most of the items will fall into place. Remember that the cam, converter, tranny and rear end gears all work in harmony and therefore should be considered together.

Is your car in Japan?

Re: Build-up questions

my car is NOT in japan...unfortunately...lol.

I am getting all the stuff i need gathered together for when i am able to take leave this next summer.

in addition to what i have listed for my setup i will be running a stock 3.42 rear end. i have a 2.73 in right now...but will be swapping it out. and i have 3200 stall that will be going in with my new tranny.

And the NSA rockers....i will be going with those... i have not bought any rockers yet....soon though...hopefully.

Thanks!

Re: Build-up questions

As for lifters I would get comp part number 850-16, they are a stock replacement lifter.

Also the Fel Pro 1074 is .039 compressed thickness. What static compression are you going to run? What size chambers is Lloyd putting in your heads?
