A JE boost piston is probably one of the best you could buy for an LT1. I do not think there is anyway you could go wrong with one.

****, if i could afford them they would be in my motor.

I would not "Deck the Block" on a blown application. If it needs it I'd find another block.

Re: bottom end for boost

back from the dead. and about a year later im about to put this engine together. but now the compstar cranks in the 1 piece RMS have been discontinued, and everyone has them on their site but if i call, everyone is out of stock. so.... for sure on the JE pistons, and i could still use compstar rods, but what about a crank? i called scat and they have them in stock, 3.750 stroke, 1 piece RMS, rated to 1000 hp. i just want something that will actually stand up to about 800 flywheel HP. anyone?

Look into Howards, Scat would get the job done but Howards has some attractive pricing on more AMERICAN stuff.

Re: bottom end for boost

Not terribly popular since they don't advertize as much as the chinese stuff but I am not aware or any failures.

Some of their cranks are forged in the USA and I believe all of them are machined by Callies.

I know on their higher end cranks they make a big deal about 100% American but have heard reports that even their Tracksmart comes boxed "Made in America".

I have bought fasteners and a SFI flexplate and such there but never rotating assembly components.
They are located maybe 30minutes from me in Oshkosh WI.

Their website is not great so I am not sure what they have in 1-piece rear main. I would consider a rear main adapter to run American made stuff though. Of course if you are willing to run an adapter that brings back the possibility of running Compstar.

Re: bottom end for boost

i thought about the adapter, but at about 150 for the adapter, and 700ish for the crank, i might as well spend a little more and get a better crank. i just want something that i can confidently make 800 fly wheel hp with
