BM Ripper Shifter question

puttin it in do i use the stops that come with it....
what do they do?

you do not need to use the stops - in fact the instructions recommend that you do not use them.

your going to love the shifter!

I would make sure your shift points are set properly with the stops.

use some loc-tite or something on the threads of the screws that hold the shifter to the tranny. Mine backed out on me before while driving, and it makes for some pretty sloppy shifting.

To adjust the stops first install the shifter. After installed put the shifter in 3rd and screw in the front stop until it touches the shifter stick. Then back out the stop 3/4 of a turn and tighten the lock nut.

Then put the shifter in fourth and repeat with the rear stop.

I used the stops on mine, just to get ride of the free play. It might have taken away about 1/16th, noticeable enough that I stayed with it. If you put them in too far you'll kick yourself out of gear. I agree, you'll love it!
