Blue Stripe Beehive Springs
I think the reports were that they usually gave up the ghost with in about 300 miles or so. I've exceeded that but I can't help but feel a lil worried. So far all of my blasts to 6600 have been w/o peril so maybe I'm good.
To each there own here, but we all know what happens when you drop a valve.
If I had blue stripe springs and appeared that they were working out just fine, I would still replace them to ensure that I did not have problematic batch. The piece of mind knowing that the motor is not at risk of dropping a valve would be worth the cost of new springs and the couple hours of install time.
Comp may even be willing to replace the blue stripes for free if they are approached the right way.

What makes this whole deal more confusing is how pac used the blue stripe, and then the new manufacturer for comp used it also (most likely to copy). This made the change not recognizable. Comp made a mistake trusting a cheaper company at their names expense.

I like that theory. I'm not sure if mine are some of the ones to look out for or not. The time line says they might be. But the shop said if they were going to break, they would have done so by now. About 1500 miles on them and many 6400rpm pulls. So far so good. I'll take my chances, if it breaks, it breaks.

I got the PAC 1518s (nitrided 1218s).. couldn't be happier with the stability of the valvetrain, went with the upgrade just for peace of mind but a nice option to have to choose from..
IMO this 918 and comp R lifter business has left some of us with a big question mark when it comes to comp and their products.
