It does not have to be off an f-body or even an LT1. Bleeders were used on lots of vehicles.

this is true I never thought about that. Wonder if the parts store sells the valve alone or I gotta buy the whole heater hose assembly

I'm not sure you are getting it (or I don't understand what you need). You only need the tiny little bleeder - not any pipe or hoses.

I dug into the parts book for you.

GM PART # 10070107 for the bleeder.

Sorry if I confused you. The screw that has the flat head screwdriver top broke off in that valve. I was wondering if I have to replace the whole hose assembly, or I can just remove the valve via the hex bottom and swap out the screws.

That is what I have been trying to tell you to do since this thread started. Very simple fix.

I went to the junk yard and got mine, GM used them on the 3.4 and 3.8 liters too, like the Malibus and Impala, pretty sure it was one of those models that i pulled it off of.

To add to this topic I also have problems with the bleeder on my thermo housing. It is was really stuck in there after the part sat dry on the shelf for a year or so. I wound up stripping the actual fitting including the hex. The metal is really soft because it is brass. I wound up drilling it out with a drill press, and tapping the aluminium to a new size. From there I went to orielly auto parts and got a radiator petcock valve. LOL It is the t handle style valve that is hollow in the center, and has a hex to thread into part. Hope this works for me. I figure the valve will hold pressure fine, because it is made for coolant system.
