how much did the machine work cost, and what crank are you using?
have 15,000 since last rebuild and 6 dyno runs
crank kit came from ebay, machine shops states is it a nitrated forged steel crank and nitrated rods

my engine went to many machine shops
2 head shops
1 engine builder
1 engine machine shop
1 balance shop
1 dynotune shop

and the labor of R&R'ing the eninge
$2700 total

parts from ebay - $750 (rods, crank, bearings, cheap pistons)
i used Keith Black 11.5:1 pistons ($about 300)

sleeves $100 (4.12 I.D. 4.25 O.D.)
block x-ray (before and after) $75

hmm.......that doesnt sound outrageous..........although that sounds reaaaaaaly cheap for your rotating assembly, normally you cant even get forged 383 stuff for that price........and your sig says forged pistons, but i thought keith black's are hypereutectic?

what do you think just the block machine work would cost for the sleeves and fitting the rotating assembly?

did you have to get an aftermarket oil pan too?

i was gonna do a 383 rebuild, but a 427 would be cool if its not too much more cash.

Nope, not World Products. I just got an email back from them and they said they weren't even working on an LT1 block. Hopefully someone else?

Hey Chad I just noticed reading your sig that your using 1.7 RR's. Mind me asking what the lift is with the 1.7s? How do you like them? What brand are they? Thanx!

Many of us would be interested in an After market block But I do not see one in our future.

I am also leaning towards the big bore idea but keeping a smaller higher reving 3.75 stroke.

I would like to hear more on this

BTW we are figuring $1,000+ BEFORE the block go to the machine shop for cap's, decking, squareing and boring. Figuring after all this the lifters and Cam bore will need checked also.

even at that after all is said and done I figure a cost savings of $1,500 over a motown or Dart block not to mention I would have to buy a FAsT ro other engine managment system.

PS: i can get more then 475 RWHP with a bigger cam
my friend has a 355 w/ 10:1 compression with a BIG cam (cc306 i think) and head work/LT1 Edit, and basic mods: 420RWHP 380Ft. Lbs. Tq.

Carlsbad is probably 30-45 minutes away from you and they run test and tune pretty much every saturday.
