Worried about future subwoofer setup.
Ok I'm planing to get a 12 inch Stroker powered by an MTX 81000D. The problem I'm having is that the Stoker is only rated at 1000 watts RMS. The 81000D can bench test a lot of times at 1200 watts @ 2ohms @ 12volt and which in turn would mean a power output of 1700 watts RMS @ 2ohms @14.4 volts. This amount of power is mean then the spec sheet on Stoker saids the sub is built for. Do you think the Stroker can withstand this extra load without being over loaded?

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. The amp's rating is the amount of clean power it can deliver continuously. The only way the amp will ever be delivering that amount of continuous power is if you are playing test tones thru your stereo. Music is full of transients so you will never be running at full power. My Alpine Type-S is rated at 200W RMS and 600W peak. My MTX 6500D outputs 600W RMS and I've never even so much as bottomed out the sub with this combination. As long as you set your amp's gain properly (meaning you don't use it as a volume control) you won't have any problems.

one thing most forget about is impendace rise. i've wired my subs to 1/2 ohm on the amp and most of my notes were up around 3 ohms when played.
you'll be fine, besides i've put 2400 watts into them before and they lived
