Big problem, please help with engine moniters.
Hey guys, i have a 96 ws6 6 spd i just bought. It had an ses light on when i bought it, i have a tech 2 flash and it said my o2s were no good. I bought sims, put them in, and no more codes. The problem is in my state i need to get emmissons done before i get plates, i have driven the car 70 miles to do a drive cycle, I can check all the moniters with the tech 2, and it says all the moniters are set, but the o2, and the cat are INC. The car cant be tested, do to the moniters not being set. The car like i said has no ses light, and no codes what so ever, the kid i bought the car from said the cats were punched out, and i dont want to buy new cats, and new 02s when im planning ondoing long tubes and no cats anyway. What the hell is going on? Am i not doing the drive cycle right? Im goin on the highway at about 55-60, do you think i dont have enough miles on it? I cant get plates with out this, what can i do!!!!!
you need 2 sets of sims. one for upstream, and one set for downstream.
the ox sensors both will detect oxygen in the exhaust, but the downstream monitors the cat. the first sould be between 200 and 800mv, constantly switching between the two....and the downstream sims should show a constant motion of up and downs too, but should range between 430 and 470mv.
you need an upstream and a downstream set of sims.....or you need to put in sensors upstream and sims downstream.

guys, what are you talking about! You can only get sims in the rear o2s, thats what i have, i dont have a check engine (ses) light, i just need to know if it will set the drive cycle moniters so they can scan the car...
This is what i have gathered after researching a little, because of my plans with OBD2. I went in, and my o2 heaters were not ready to test. Passed no problems
The only reason I see you not passing is that the Post cat o2's are vital to giving 90% of the emissions info, so that might be a required thing that must be ready to test. I say give it a shot and go in, and see what happens. You have punched out cats that look good. All they can tell you is, it is not ready to test and then you fix your sensor issue and come back.
