I just ordered the dynotech opti today just because I wanted the vented model and a better sealed unit - plus you have to do much more work to the car if you want to convert to the vented unit on a 94- Z. I figure it is worth the extra money and it is completely rebuildable so that you do not have to buy the whole unit again.
I'll keep you posted on how my dynotech is working out
peace

Retarded? Don't think so. Not installing them right. Wrong. We just have engines that rev over 6,800 RPMs. When was the last time you reved your motor to 7,500? If not I assume YOU do not know what your talking about.

Please keep this thread going. Am looking for the answer like every one else.

Well u got me there . I dont rev over 5900rpms because i dont have a huge amount of mods. If you guys are having that many problems with the opti, then wouldnt it be LOGICAL to change. Like get the coil pack conversion kit. Its stupid to change an opti that often considering they are not cheap. Since you think you know so much, im suprised you didnt think of it.

EDIT: When i said you guys are retarted and not installing right, it was a joke, hence the part of the sentence.

Just to show your ignorance of the subject. You still use the opti with the (coil pack conversion kit) as you call it.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. The ls1 uses a completly different ignition system(using coil packs). The coil pack conversion changes your ignition requiring you NOT to use the opti. You would use 1 coil pack per cylinder. Again, stop looking stupid. You abviously have no idea what u r talking about.

That is exactly what im talking about. I dont get what you mean . This would abviously be a better ignition setup then the opti since you rev higher. You were simply stating that the opti was the coil conversion kit which is not the case

BTW, you dont use the opti with the conversion kit. thats the whole point of it.

I see you can't read.

Quote from the ad.
# Benefits of the system are: extended opti life
# much stronger ignition at high RPM/boost
# built in adjustable rev limiter / two-step
# built in adjustable N2O / boost retard.
# It's just plain cool.

Now why does it say EXTENDED opti life.

It still uses the optical module in the Optispark, but no high voltage is passed through it, removing the source of damaging ozone that eventually leads to Optispark failure.

Its the wrong link then. Let me ask a question. Does the LS1 use an opti? NOOOOOOOO. This conversion basically converts the lt1's ignition to the ls1's which has NO OPTI. Its either someone that is misinformed or
